Reach Truck Training Courses
Reach Truck – Novice Operator
- Course Duration: Up to 5 days (8:30am to 4:30pm each day)
- Maximum Instructor/Candidate Ratio: 1:3
- RTITB Certification: This then enables the candidate to operate Reach Truck (with authorisation) both the photo ID card and certificate are valid throughout the UK and will be recognised by both employment agencies and perspective employers. The candidate’s name and details are kept on a National Operators Registration Scheme database (NORS) for 3 years.
- WSM IN-HOUSE Certification: This is optional, and if employers prefer, we can supply In-House certificates, only allowing the candidates to operate lift trucks / machinery within the company.
Course Content
Successful candidates will gain suitable and sufficient understanding of current relevant legislation; best practice and learn skills and ability in the safe use of Reach Trucks in line with current approved methods and manufacturer’s instructions.
The course agenda includes:
- Course introduction
- Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- Operator Safety Code
- Pre-use inspections
- Lift Truck stability – Engineering principles and weight assessment
- Driving within simulated working conditions
- Manoeuvring skills
- Rated capacity / Load centre
- Stacking / de-stacking – load handling skills
- Vehicle loading and offloading
- Refuelling and Recharging procedures including battery handling and housing
- Associated Knowledge, Pre-use Inspection and Practical examinations
